The new system also supports expanded online features and contactless service. Students do not receive physical decals, and faculty/staff hang tags are only for gated entry areas.
To update the vehicles on your account, log into your My.GeorgiaSouthern portal. Click on “Parking Permits and Citations” in the Auxiliary Services window. Click on the permit number assigned to your account. At the bottom, you will have the ability to add, delete or edit the vehicles associated to you. All vehicles must belong to you or an immediate family member.
If you are driving a vehicle on a temporary basis, go through the log in process, click on your permit and add the temporary vehicle. Send us the date range and we will only have it active during that time period.
Visitors at the University are individuals who are not students or employees and may need to park on campus occasionally. With a visitor permit, they can park in any space EXCEPT for service and delivery, reserved spaces (such as RD, Dean, or President spaces), handicapped spaces (unless they have a permit), and AMP spaces (unless they have paid for the hourly AMP permit).
All visitors should obtain a visitor parking permit directly from the Office of Parking & Transportation. Students and departments can also request a visitor’s pass on the visitor’s behalf by contacting Parking and Transportation at 912-478-7275 or parking@georgiasouthern.edu. Please have the email address of your visitor handy. The visitor will receive an email invitation to claim their parking permit. After completing this process, they will be issued an electronic pass and their license plate will serve as their pass.
Visitors are allowed to have three (3) one-day visitor parking passes per year at no charge. The 4th and each subsequent pass will cost $2.00 per day. Faculty, staff and students are not allowed to park in visitor spaces Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
AMP paid parking spaces are available for visitors at the University. To use these spaces, visitors must download the AMP Parking app from the Apple Store or Google Play, register their vehicle, and follow the prompts. It’s important to enter the correct license plate number (replace the letter “O” with the number zero “0” if applicable) to avoid citations. Vehicles must park directly in front of the AMP sign, as not all spaces in a lot are designated for AMP parking. AMP parking is available from 8 am to 4 pm daily, and users must obtain a permit within 10 minutes of parking to avoid violations. Each hour costs $1, with a maximum of 4 hours per lot per day. Only one permit can be purchased per lot per day, meaning you cannot park in the same AMP lot more than once per day. AMP no longer offers a free 30-minute option. Visitors can also purchase a day pass for $2 (students) or $1 (faculty and staff without a GSU permit).
All vehicles parking on the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses must display a valid parking permit to avoid receiving a citation. Faculty, staff, and students must have an active permit before the first day of class.
